How many times have I been up here? a lot.
Crowders mountain state park has been a very popular state park in the greater Charlotte area for many years now. The trails are very accessible and so are the approaches for climbing.
This state park is significant to me since I have consistently gone back to hike it at different stages of my life. All the while the trails have mostly stayed the same, but I haven’t.
At these different stages in my life I have stepped on the trail head as a teammate, a son, a brother, a friend and a partner.
It’s not like I love Crowders more than any park I have been to, but like any first romance, it will always hold some special meaning.
“Antes de Morir” by LosPetitFellas is a song written by Colombian jazz/rock artists from my home city, Bogota. I was lucky to have had a cousin recommend this band and their EP Historias Minimas to me.
My favorite lines in the song are
