Live music performances are very special. I think it is great to see musical artists perform right in front of you. If you look real close you can see the passion they hold inside released in their strum or vocals(or any other type of instrument action). Not only do you see individuals but you see a group or band move as one. A band communicates in many ways while performing -it’s like a dance in a way; either very rehearsed or improvised.
My first concert I saw was in the Bojangles Coliseum about 9 or 10 years ago. The Avett Brothers were performing that night and I hardly head their music before. My friend John L. had invited me to go and I was so stoked to go. I tried to listen to most of their discography, but only a few songs stuck that I liked. I had a good time. As the years went by, I tried to see more live performances. I don’t know how long it will be before large concerts will be safe again. I hope it is soon since most artist make most of their revenue from these performances and not streams. Fingers crossed that we come out of this soon.
I had heard of the band Caamp before but I never listened to them before Connor told me to check them out. We played their tracks most of my time in Boone. They just have a good feel vibe all round, but they can change that vibe easily and bust out some melancholy songs. Plus the banjo and acoustic guitar go really well together. This song, “iffy” is kinda sad but not really. I don’t know how to describe it honestly, because I really feel like moving to it too. Great track and band. Thanks Tophs for the recommendation.
Connor was driving us around the Blue Ridge Mountains in this picture. We went to a Historic house that had trails all around. It was a great day. We did some short hikes and enjoyed the views. I admire Connor for his determination to keep climbing up. He knows what he wants and he works really hard to get it. I am sure that he will end up having a bright future with a loving family and many great friends. I miss seeing him as much as I did before. I’ll miss all my friends when I move out of the state, but thats the danger in going my own way.
This shot was taken using my 8mm Rikinon Fish eye lens. It is insane how wide this lens is! I was sitting in the passenger seat and I could see everything inside the car. I did practice more of my post processing skills on this shot. I might have gone overboard with the sky’s blue, but what the hell -I like it. My favorite part of the shot is the road that I captured. I got the timing just right!
