Endings are important to any story. If there is a beginning to anything then you know it will end. duh
That’s the cycle that we experience in life. Is it sad? Well, yeah it can be, but it’s normal. It’s archetypal to resolve a story in the best interest of the characters, or the theme of the story. This song here is from ‘Hey, Arnold’, the old Nickelodeon show. Jim Lang composed the original soundtrack to the show and man he killed it. Flamingosis made it into a Lo-fi beat (you know, the ones that ppl either love or hate on youtube haha) The beginning of the track conduces retrospection. (at least to me..) the beat that Flamingosis adds is just nice to head-bop to. Then about a quarter way in you hear these electronic bells, I guess, and they just sprinkle on top of the beat. There is a synth-like melody in the background that is slow and nostalgic.
I have been learning about music and I learned about tonality. A tonic is the root note of a key. Music can have tonality, when the notes go away from the root note but eventually come back down to the root note or the tonic. It’s said that most people find a tune or song incomplete if it is not tonal. This just reminded me of completing a cycle or ending one.
I don’t want to get to deep into this because I can’t talk too much on the subject and haven’t researched too much into it.
but…you know what they say about endings…

I still have a couple of mountain pictures to post from my last trip to Boone. I am pretty sure I used my 50mm lens to capture this shot. I tried my best to get each level of depth in this shot: foreground, mid-ground and background. I really like the haze in this shot. It was around 6:30am and I was facing South as the sun rose in the East. I am starting to like landscape photography more and more, but I want to keep trying new styles. Portraits seem fun, but man are they difficult for me.

Nice stuff!
