I’ve been wanting to get a telephoto lens to get great shots of sections of the rainbow mountains in the red rock conservancy area. I’ve been working and living at red rock for a while now. The morning glow in the area is amazing. The way light lays on the red and white sandstone is beautiful. And in the background, large grey limestone mountains tower behind the red rock. It’s sick! This past week- in higher elevations, Vegas got some snow. I was working on the White Rock trail and had a chance to be in a flurry mix of snow. I was too low to see any snow stick, but I sure felt the cold gusts slapping my face. Such moments remind me of how special the desert is. The environment can flip from extreme heat to freezing nights!
A friend mentioned that they want to visit all the world’s deserts, and now I want to do my best to visit as many different deserts as I can. So far Mojave, Chihuahuan Great Basin and Sonoran are the only four I’ve visited. Not bad g.
